Carlos Bernardes
With a PhD in Tourism from IGOT / ESHTE, University of Lisbon, a Postgraduate Degree in Regional and Local History from the University of Lisbon and a Degree in Tourism and Hotel Management, Carlos Bernardes was Vice-President of the Municipality of Torres Vedras, from 2005 to 2015 and Councilman for the Municipality of Torres Vedras from 2003 to 2005. He is a member of the fiscal council of Águas do Tejo Atlântico, Grupo Águas de Portugal and chairman of the board of management of Torres Vedras SMAS (Municipal Services). He is a Quality Coast and Green Destination Ambassador and a member of the Political Advisory Committee for the CIVITAS Initiative. Throughout his career, he participated, both in Portugal and abroad, in various conferences, seminars, workshops and courses related to tourism, environment, sustainability and mobility, among other areas. Since December 2015, he serves as the President of the Municipality of Torres Vedras, and is responsible for the General Coordination of Municipal Services, Environment and Sustainability, Civil Protection, Legal, Communication, Human Resources and Entrepreneurship.
